A Price to Pay is a modern mythology drawing. It shows the killing of the Minotaur for power, greed and wealth. It represents the destruction of land and sea by the human species from the beginning of man’s existence. Edwards studied Greek and Roman mythology in school. He was interested in the Gods and what they represented. He was fascinated that people of that time believed in it all.
In Greek stories, and later Roman, the Minotaur depicted in this modern mythology drawing was a creature that was part bull, part man. Its name derives from the bull-god, Minos. Minos was a major deity of the Minoan civilization of Crete, as well as a king who demanded sacrifices of Athenian youths to feed it.
